Avery Callens

Avery Callens is a 2025 graduate of the University of North Texas. She holds a bachelor’s in broadcast journalism, with a minor in political science. She interned as an MMJ at KXII-TV, was a production intern at KLTV, and worked three years reporting and anchoring for North Texas Television, where she also spent semesters as an assistant news director and news director.

Her work has been recognized with one Lone Star Emmy and two nominations. In August 2025, she launched her professional career, working as a digital producer and anchor at KLTV Channel 7 in Tyler, Texas.
